The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) was established in 1970 with support from the Arab League countries and the UNDP. Overcoming funding challenges, it has evolved into a world-class university for Maritime Transport and Higher Education. A partnership with Akela aims to establish an Oil and Gas Institute to provide internationally accredited training.

The College of Engineering & Technology has received accreditation to train students and industry professionals in alignment with OPITO Global Qualifications standards. This partnership is instrumental in preparing a skilled workforce for Egypt’s emerging industries.
